There are plenty of things that can go wrong. Misunderstandings, cost can blow out due to hidden fees or unexpected additional resources required or extra time required, personalities can clash, items can break or go missing just to name a few.

So, to minimize the possibility , it is important to consider your situation and belongings, what are some non negotiables for you and how to avoid some of the most common ones. Consider the following:

· What is the reputation of the removalist? Is there a website with reviews, a Facebook page with past customer feedback? 

· Are they accredited by AFRA?

· Recommendations from family or friends?

· Are they female friendly?How do they charge? 

· Can you pay by transfer/credit card/cash? 

· Is the payment upfront or on completion?

· Do you have any difficult items to move and has that been discussed?

· What are (all) the fees?

· Will there be a written agreement?

· Are they fully insured, is there an excess to pay?

· Is access to your home easy? (Consider stairs, through the garage or front door, two story or single, apartment, lift access, …)
